GetNut Features
GetNut is the new service that allows you to certify not only large files but also every exchange of attachments, ensuring the exact correspondence of what was sent compared to what was received.
Thanks to the integration with PEC, SPID and, above all, an innovative patent, GetNut is able to ensure: authenticity of the content, correspondence between the file sent and received, certified identity of the sender and recipient, precise date and time of sending, delivery, reception, upload and download. In other words, GetNut does not limit itself to “sending” a file: it protects it, certifies it and makes it unassailable even on a legal level.
As Palombo clarifies, PEC alone is not enough. The ruling of the United Sections of the Court of Cassation n. 28452 of 5 November 2024 clarified that notification by PEC is not valid without the delivery receipt (RdAC), even in the event of non-delivery due to saturation of the recipient’s mailbox. «This is where GetNut was born. Because it covers precisely this need: to give forensic validity also to attachments, without necessarily signing them digitally» reiterates Palombo.
With GetNut, each file is subjected to a hash function, a digital fingerprint that guarantees the integrity and non-alterability of the content. A second PEC, automatically sent to the sender at the time of download, certifies the completion of the exchange. This entire process allows the creation of a computer and legal proof, capable of protecting the origin and authenticity of a file in every location.
Immediate and accessible to everybody
GetNut is designed to be immediately accessible even to those without advanced technical skills, as Giuliano Palombo explains: «This innovation significantly changes the level of security and peace of mind for professionals and companies that deal with copyright and intellectual property or who, more simply, share their work by sending digital files».
The service is presented as an all-in-one platform, similar in use to a normal email provider, but also with the certainty of being able to legally prove the sending and receiving of a specific file. Furthermore, the certification does not expire, and it is not necessary for the recipient to have an account or a PEC. Palombo specifies: «A great advantage for users is precisely the possibility of also sending ordinary email addresses, without PEC. The legal value is the same».
Who GetNut is useful for
GetNut applications are transversal. A lawyer who manages confidential documents, an agency that sends creative projects, a technical studio that shares renderings or CAD files, an author who transmits unpublished works, a software house that shares source code: in all these cases, knowing what was sent, to whom, and when, with certainty, makes the difference.
«I know exactly when you opened it, if you downloaded the file, and if the file works. It is much more than a return receipt: it is guaranteed traceability» explains Palombo.
Furthermore, it is not necessary for the recipient to be registered on GetNut. In fact, the service also works with external users, as long as the download is carried out according to the certified procedure.
Upcoming developments
The platform, created by GetSRL, is already online and in use, but development continues. Among the upcoming implementations is a plugin for Outlook/Office 365, designed to integrate GetNut into the most popular email client in the world, further simplifying the use of the service.
Giuliano Palombo concludes: «We started from a real need and we created a platform that is already working today. And we won’t stop there».
